Women In Design

Young women and Industrial Design careers? It’s not oil and water—it’s the future. Our thought is that, if people don’t know about the excellent opportunities we have here, we have to reach out a little further. CCS teamed up with the Ford Motor Company Fund and Ford Design to create a series of “Women in Design” webisodes as the first step in a big movement: urging K-12 school systems, colleges and businesses to develop career paths for females who want to pursue Industrial Design. Also, what’s cool is that CCS’s Live Action Entertainment Arts students planned, scripted and executed this film. If we feel inspired by this (which we do), our hope is that you’ll get some butterflies, too. Watch now.

Good Design (at Ford)

In part two of Kim and Cori’s visit with Ford’s lead designer for Color and Trim Susan Swek and her associate Golnaz Armin, the designers discuss the basics of “good design” and offer suggestions for students interested in a career in industrial design.
